What to do when the colder weather starts to make an appearance and the days get darker sooner?  Get to the park as soon as you can and indulge in beautiful photography.  Our good friend Charles Chessler is an amazing photographer and has captured astoundingly beautiful images in New York City, many of which may surprise you. His eye for color and nature has been a form of visual yoga for us.  Check out his Facebook page (excellent portrait work) and site for a taste of what we mean.  Better yet, if you’re local go to Straus Park this Saturday and check out his art and while enjoying a bit of fanfare:

Art In The Park is this Saturday, October 13!

Come check out a little art, music and dance…

Where: Straus Park, Broadway between 106th and 107th

Time: 10am-5pm

Charle’s will be raffling off a picture of his, so be sure to go.  If you can’t make this weekend there’s an exhibit of his up until November 30th in the New York Public Library:  City Flowers at The St. Agnes Branch of The New York Public Library.

Just for your entertainment and enrichment here are a few of our favorite images.  Find more at his links.  They’re an excellent pick-me-up in the middle of the day (definitely click to enlarge and get fuller detail).
